Thomas Kœgler appointed as New Chief Executive Officer of Asmodee

Thomas Kœgler succeeds Stéphane Carville, previous CEO of Asmodee, and joins Embracer Group’s Executive Management Team; longtime top executives Stéphane Carville and Marc Nunes are now Board Members and Senior Advisors at Asmodee.

Boulogne-Billancourt, France — September 2, 2024— Asmodee, a leading entertainment company specializing in tabletop games, today announces the appointment of Thomas Kœgler as its new Chief Executive Officer. He is also joining the Embracer Group’s Executive Management Team.

Thomas Kœgler has had a long tenure in corporate and operational positions within Asmodee over the last 9 years. He succeeds Stéphane Carville, Asmodee’s Chief Executive Officer since 2012. Stéphane Carville and Marc Nunes, Asmodee’s founder and COO, are now Board Members and Senior Advisors at Asmodee. The Board of Asmodee comprises Lars Wingefors (Chair of the Board), Kicki Wallje-Lund (Deputy Chair), Stéphane Carville, Marc Nunes, Jacob Jonmyren, and Linda Höljö. This board represents an important first step in strengthening the company’s governance for the long term as Asmodee progresses towards becoming a standalone publicly listed entity on Nasdaq Stockholm.

Thomas Kœgler, 42, joined Asmodee in 2015 as International Program Manager and became Head of Strategy and Business Development in 2019. In these positions, he oversaw the acquisition of key studios and distribution units building Asmodee into the leader it is today. Thomas Kœgler then became EVP Interactive and Entertainment, focusing on franchise development and strategizing Asmodee’s expansion into exploring new forms of entertainment for Asmodee’s licenses beyond tabletop games. He continued his journey within the company by becoming Deputy Chief Operating Officer in June 2023 and has been progressively steering Asmodee’s operations since then.
